Euthanasia, Abortion & Assisted Suicide

(Warning: This is a controversial topic, read with caution.)

Euthanasia... the painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease or in an irreversible coma. Not all moral issues have the same moral weight as abortion and euthanasia. There may be legitimate diversity of opinion  about waging war and applying the death penalty, but not with regard to abortion and euthanasia. This is completely opinion based, but certain things like abortion and euthanasia are things that we need to handle certain situation. Yes, we need euthanasia, for certain cases where people are in comas or too immobile to even press a button. When someone is too sick to even twiddle their fingers and there is no certainty that they will recover, then someone (family/doctor) should have the right to pull a plug so that the individual does not have to spend the rest of their life in miserable agony. I believe that it would be immoral to kill a patient who has the greater odds of recovering and living a great prosperous life, but I also believe it is immoral the keep a patient alive on dialysis or in a coma if they don't have a chance of ever becoming normal ever again and be able to do anything else besides lay in a hospital bed in pain for the rest of their lives. People have an inevitable right to die, but not in ways that expels them from a greater life. Euthanasia will be the focus of many long concentrated debates for the rest of mankind; I myself will never perform or assist in the act of euthanasia due to legal consequences, but I am not against the idea.
Abortion... The deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. This is a debate that can go many different ways, I am for abortion but only under major restrictions. Rape victims... Rape victims who have become pregnant due to their unfortunate incident should have the right to terminate their birth because of the tragic history behind it. If you were stupid yourself and decided to have unprotected sex then it is your own fault that you got pregnant, it's wrong to kill the fetus just because you made it a mistake, it's your fault and now you have to deal with the consequences. If the baby is a result of a rape where you were pushed into a situation that isn't your fault then I feel that you have a right to terminate. I think that bringing a baby into this life after it was only conceived by the mother being raped is completely unethical. What you're doing is you're bringing this baby into the world with all this history of it that creates a bad energy, then eventually the baby will have to learn the truth and then there's no idea how horrible this person life can become just because of a tragic event that was the only reason they were born. Abortion is another topic that will be the focus of many long concentrated debates for the rest of mankind. Everyone has their own disagreements and there is no possible way everyone will agree on pro-abortion. I have no problem with it but only for a pure purpose of protecting the child from harsh reality.
Assisted Suicide... It's exactly as it sounds. It's a suicidal person asking someone he knows to help him kill himself. I, myself, have been asked to assist someone in suicide; I will always decline, no matter how good of a reason you think you have to commit such an act. Anyone who has ever talked to me about suicide knows my opinion on the matter, and whoever talks to me about doing it will get the same exact answer I give everyone else: Shut the fuck up and deal with the problem in a mature responsible way. Things will get better, but only if you make it better. Life's hard! People get what they get, it has nothing to do with what they want or deserve. The only way for things to change is you take what you get and you manipulate it to benefit your well being. You don't take the cowardly way out! I have no respect for that, you can go ahead and do it and my eulogy at your funeral is going to one word: idiot. You have a problem, face it, don't bury your head in the dirt. Nothing comes easy, but happiness comes with hard work. Anyone desperate for suicide should be desperate enough to go to creative extremes to solve problems! ... I only say this because it is true. To run away from trouble is a form of cowardice and, while it is true that the suicide braves death, he does it not for some noble object but to escape some ill. As anyone who has been close to someone that has committed suicide knows, there is no other pain like that felt after the incident. People need to remember that living in misery sucks marginally less than dying in it.

Well... I have covered a spread of related controversial material today, most of which is something a lot of people are too afraid to speak their mind on. Whatever you think, you can love or hate and agree or disagree to anything that I said, but this post is purely opinion based, not meant to offend. Have a great Presidents Day.

Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day to all you wild fornicators! For many of you, Valentines Day is the day that the 'V' and 'D' come together, but for me it's just another self-pleasuring Thursday.
I honestly despise Valentines Day, even when I'm in a relationship. It's too lovey dovey and all the lovers are all up on each other, like come on, Valentines Day is not a big orgy bananza! But anyway... I find Valentines day to be demeaning to all those who are single and go unloved through out the year. It goes Christmas, New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day. Is that fair to anyone who's alone? These are all days you gotta be with someone. And if you didn't get around to killing yourself (I do not condone or support suicide) at Christmas or New Year's, boom! There's Valentine's Day. I think there should be one more after Valentine's Day just called, 'Who could love you?'
Valentines Day is also a day when men show their gross desires for women by presented them with gifts... Today is Valentine's Day, or, as men like to call it, Extortion day. If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?
Another thing I hate about Valentines Day is Cupid! I don't understand why Cupid was chosen to represent Valentine's Day. When I think about romance, the last thing on my mind is a short, chubby toddler coming at me with a weapon.
Either way, no matter how much I, or anyone else, rant about Valentines Day, this holiday will always be here to remind you that if you don't have a special someone, you're alone.
So once again, happy phony, romanticized, overly commercial, sucks to be single, pretend that its love, day!

Religion...

I believe that religion is a symptom of irrational belief and groundless hope. Religion has existed for thousands of years with various practices and theories on the creation of humanity and personal ethics.
Frankly, I believe that you cannot oppose a belief without truly understanding what the practice is really about. I have read the bible, the Torah, the Quoran, and many religious scripts of different cultures. It takes time to fully comprehend what the religion is really about, most are about believing in a higher power and allowing mystery and fiction influence the way that certain people view life and go about their every day rituals. I myself believe in science and rational fact opposed to traditional religious practices.
I am not a practicer of Scientology, I am an atheist. I chose not the believe in the "mythology," if you will; of other cultures. I do believe in the freedom of religion and that everyone has the right to practice and believe whatever the hell they want to whether how close to reality it is or not; I accept religion, I just don't practice it.
Chose to believe in something or not, those are two options, so... Isn't an agnostic just an atheist without balls to say there's no god? But either way, I just believe that an atheist is a man who has no invisible means of support.
Happy Sunday y'all

Welcome

Welcome to The Daily Realist! My name is Garrett Keith, I am here to distribute my beliefs, ethics, and what I believe is the truth to you in ways that are unbiased and that will be considered controversial by some. People go around in their everyday lives listening to the slander and the crap that others spew from their mouths and have to watch them perform the hypocritical acts that go against who they are. I believe in reality, that even though it sucks at times, the truth should be told, because even tiny white lies can start wild fires of pain and hatred. Whether you like what I have to say or not, you won't regret considering everything I have to say. So once again, welcome! Let the fun begin! :)
